some more St. Faustina

Thursday, January 05, 2006

From the Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska (Divine Mercy in My Soul):

Today, the Lord gave me knowledge of His anger toward mankind which deserves to have its days shortened because of its sins. But I learned that the world's existence is maintained by chosen souls; that is, the religious orders. Woe to the world when there will be a lack of religious orders!
Well, actually, St. Faustina's message is that God is merciful. This is but a snippet and alone, it fails to convey that. I plucked it because it tells of the significance of religious orders. When I first started down this path of considering religious life, one of the first questions I asked of myself was "What good would that be? Do we really need another religious Sister?"
