How long did you go through discernment before you applied for entrance? Did you search beyond your city? Did you enter a community that is out of town, out of state? It's been sporadically over a year for me.
Regarding the Word of God:
The spiritual writers, paraphrasing Matthew 7:7, summarize in this way the dispositions of the heart nourished by the word of God in prayer "Seek in reading and you will find in meditating; knock in mental prayer and it will be opened to you by contemplation." (CCC 2654)

Hey, my name is Nicole, i have been diserning for about 4 yrs now!!!! I know almost everything about religious life, about cloistered and active communities. I saw your blog and thought i would answer your questions!!!!
1) Although i havent filled out any apps..yet, i did ask in may for enterence to the Sisters of Nazareth sicne i have known them for 3 yrs!!!!! But the vd wants to make sure eveyrthing goes well for enterence and that way im accepted!!!
2) Oh yes, searching beyond the city you live in is best for discernment. I found about 10 communities that arent from ILL!!!! the community i requested to enter into is only in california and over seas!!!!! its a great sacrafice to give up the family you have known for your life and to move far away!!!!
3) even though i have yet entered, chances are its going to be out of state and out of town!!!! Its easier that way that way one can mature alot more and try to stay in contact with family...becuase once you enter you are limited to family contact. youa re only allowed to write 2 or 3 times a yr, or call once a month. But it also depends on the community!!!
Thank you, sixtina87.
no problem, i posted a reply to your comment on my blog!!!
